Fantastic location and views, perfect for a quiet retreat and base to explore Queenstown. The house is extremely well equipped and easy to feel at home. Less than 10 minutes drive to pick up supplies in Queenstown Central, and back to the house for the amazing mountain vista and peace. I could have stayed for a month.

A very cozy and peaceful place. This is my 2nd stay at this house. I love to stay again.

Only thing to improve is more soap and in bathrooms and tea towels in kitchen - 2 for whole week not enough. Everything else brillant xx

We had great weather to enjoy the region in a quiet location with great autumn views. Positive: great view in a quiet area Negative: It was the least well appointed/presented and the most expensive property we stayed in over the past 35 days travelling in New Zealand With little effort the single bedrooms could be converted to a king bed if couples are travelling together The cleanliness didn’t meet our expectation but luckily goodstays rectified the dirty windows and cobwebs There is obvious maintenance required; including lights dropped from the ceiling, showers not draining.

Good Location

Nice, standard house in a beautiful spot with a great view of the Shotover River and surrounding mountains. Clean, it just needs to have the windows washed. We woke up to no water running and they resolved it immediately, so good work!

Very calm and comfy house

Nice house and beautiful view, near the town centre, very suit family holiday , almost have everything which you need.

Good location. Close to Frankton for the shops, however it can take up to 30-45 min to drive to heart of Queenstown.

Comfortable home with superb views and all day sun.

This place is a hidden gem in the perfect location with outstanding views of the river and local ski hill. The nearby trails make for a nice daily walk to take in the NZ countryside. The deck is a perfect place to enjoy a quiet evening as the sun sets. Being away from the city, the views of the night sky are stunning if you’re into the stars.

Very cean and inviting home, modern with everything we needed. The accommodation was perfect for our party, two couples and 2 children, 7 and 11.

Property exceeded our expectations in every respect. The house was private sunny warm and perfectly situated with views of the Shotover River. I would highly recommend this house for families. The interaction with Goodstays was also really impressive. We will return for sure.

We arrived to a warm, clean house with all the amenities you could need.

The fireplace is gorgeous on a cold Queenstown night.

The beds are comfortable and warm, the linen is very clean.

The kitchen has all the appliances and utencils you need

The games cupboard is a huge bonus and the children love it.

The best part for sure, is the amazing views of the Shotover River and Coronet Peak.

I definately recommend this property.

This house was perfect for our family of 6! Modern, comfortable, clean house in beautiful spot. The kids loved the trampoline and the space to roam!

Lovely sunny home with superb outlook over the Shotover to the hills and mountains to the north. Had everything we needed, was spacious clean and warm. Would come back again.

Home away from home quiet and secluded just what we wanted would do it again...

We loved the Amberley retreat. The house is beautiful and the views are fantastic. The house is very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being outside of the city but also not far away. It was perfect for our family of 6. We also found Goodstays very pleasant to work with.

I was unable to stay due to ill health. I was unable to cancel and paid the full amount. The bond was refunded but not the incidental charges like linen which would not have been used as we never went there
I would never be using a system that takes the full amount as a deposit ever again.
Its dumb frankly. Theres better systems out there and you should try and rethink your policy.

Beautiful property with excellent views, the management at Goodstays let the team though.
The good:
- Great views of Shotover River and Coronet Peak
- Remote-feeling location but only 5 mins from Frankton and 10 mins from Queenstown
- Well-designed quite modern house
- Spacious, great for families
- Good dishwasher and laundry facilities
- Great kitchen which was well stocked for cooking
- Sky TV, with some kids toys, kids DVDs and books/magazines
The bad:
- We ran out of hot water on the last night of our stay. Called the property manager who was not very pleasant and quite rude, and told me "this is all in your compendium" (which it isn't, there is nothing in the compendium about hot water!). Told me on 1st call that it was gas hot water on bottles, and I needed to change to the 2nd bottle. Called him back as unable to rectify, he told me he wasn't sending anyone out, and to pour some "hot water" on the tap valve to help open it. When this didn't work and I realised both gas bottles were completely empty, I tried to call back, the phone had been put off the hook (unable to get through) so called the emergency assistance number (which was the same person!) - he was quite rude and said he had "already spoken to me twice about this tonight" and why was I ringing. I explained both gas bottles were empty, it was clear no-one had checked them recently, so he told me to hook up the gas bottle from the BBQ, which also ran out promptly within 3 minutes of hot water! No follow-up call at all, lucky it was our last night as no hot water in Queenstown in winter is not fun!
- Also Goodstays in general seemed a bit over the top. Only allowed to fill two garbage bags for our 7-night stay in a family 3 bedroom house, otherwise charged extra fees! Also asked for late check-out, informed we could check out 2 hours later for $80 + GST!! I've never come across such treatment for guests, particularly when paying this much per night.

Warm house, very nice for a family. Picturesque location.

Property was as described. Beautiful view. Excellent amenities. Clean. We used the house as our base for many outdoor activities in the Queenstown area. Wine tasting, excellent restaurants, whitewater rafting, jet boating, hiking. Barbecue also provided opportunity to cook good meals at home. Grocery stores conveniently located nearby. Only suggestion: leave instruction manuals for us foreigners to figure out how to work the NZ appliances!

A beautiful home with everything you could possibly need and more. Very warm and cosy, beautiful views of the Shotover and Coronet. Stay up late to see endless shooting stars. Tranquil, safe yard for kids with sheep, llama/alpaca and golden retrievers keeping the kids amused. Layout of the house allowed for room to move and privacy with good separation for two small families traveling together. Communication with Goodstays was really good. Definitely would choose this home next time we are back in Queenstown.

This accommodation exceeded our expectations. The view was INCREDIBLE! Waking up to see the sun touching the tip of Coronet Peak was magical. The facilities within the house were perfectly adequate - a great big kitchen and the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. The gas fireplace was awesome. We loved every minute of our stay and nothing was lacking.
